The VFE heat storage unit stands for the heating of tomorrow - timeless in design, sustainable in production and environmentally friendly in operation. By preparing for load-variable tariffs and charging models, electric thermal storage units are ideally equipped for the energy transition requirements within the framework of smart grids.

In the case of the VFE, this means above all that the heat storage system is not designed to store heat only at night, but can adapt to energy suppliers who have volatile grids today because of electricity generation from renewable energy sources. The VFE therefore stores heat whenever there is enough cheap energy in the grid - this can happen just as easily at night as during the day in high summer with electricity suppliers who get most of their electricity from photovoltaic systems. In this way, you heat sustainably and environmentally consciously with electricity, adapted to the conditions of the natural energy sources.
 
By the way, VFE is already sustainable in production: for the manufacture of modern heat storage units, we mainly use natural raw materials such as mica slate or the mineral iron oxide, and the other materials are also one hundred percent harmless. Mica slate is a mineral that can store heat particularly well and, in addition to heaters, is also used as flooring thanks to its beautiful stone look.
 
The design of the VFE is the icing on the heating cake. In contrast to older storage heaters, the Quantum impresses with its clean, elegant lines that fit in with any interior style and transform the storage heater from a necessary appliance into a design element in any room.
 
Technically, the VFE is the most advanced of all heat storage heaters: The improved heat retention capacity provides heat even more efficiently. In addition, the VFE can be used flexibly, both in systems with intelligent control concepts and as part of existing systems, because thanks to its backwards-compatible technology, it can also be connected to existing storage heating systems. Even in little-used rooms, such as the holiday flat, the VFE comes into its own and can be precisely adjusted.

The advanced technology of the VFE is rounded off with the capacitive operating display that switches on when approached and switches off again after a short time when not in use. So there is no annoying glow in the dark. Two different display modes are available for operation: In the basic mode, you use the arrow keys to set the target room temperature. In the "Other settings" mode, you can programme your storage heater: The daily and weekly programme can be set here, as well as presets for the holiday period. You can also activate the function that automatically switches off the storage heater when a window is open in the room.

In addition, there is a special operating mode for installers who can make system-relevant settings on your VFE and carry out maintenance work and troubleshooting.

Setting options of the VFE (selection)

• Weather-controlled charging: The charging amount is preset by the central control unit depending on the outside temperature in conjunction with the user's presettings.
• Manual reduction of charging: If a central charging control is available, the charging amount can be adjusted manually in 10% steps for rooms where less heat is required, e.g. the bedroom.
• Room-dependent charging: The charging amount is automatically determined and adjusted depending on the room temperature in conjunction with the user's presettings.
• Heat output: The room temperature is controlled by the room temperature controller integrated in the heater as standard. If desired, an external room temperature controller can be connected (not included in the scope of delivery). The configuration of both variants is done by the installer. The heat accumulator then releases the heat in such a way that the desired room temperature is kept constant. 
• Timer weekly programme: Time-dependent setting of comfort and energy-saving mode. In comfort mode, the desired room temperature can be set. In energy-saving mode, the room temperature set for comfort mode is automatically lowered.
• Auxiliary heating (optional): If the stored charge is not sufficient to heat the room to the desired temperature, this accessory provides additional warmth 
• Open window detection: The room heater detects whether energy is being consumed unnecessarily by an open window. In this case, the unit automatically switches to frost protection mode.
• Adaptive start: The set room temperature is reached exactly at the start of comfort mode. It also switches back to setback mode earlier, thus saving energy.
